Syairozi Media

Before you ask.

The questions people ask most before a project. Anything else, ask us directly.

Working with us

Who do you work for?

We are the in-house studio of Syairozi Group, and we take on outside clients with equal weight. Brands, businesses and organisations anywhere in Indonesia are welcome to send a brief.

How do we start a project?

Use the brief composer on the contact page. It opens a prefilled email to contact@syairozi.com that you can edit before sending, and we reply with questions or a quote.

What should a brief include?

What you need, who it is for, where it will be seen and when you need it. References you like, and ones you don’t, help as much as any written description.

Can we work together remotely?

Yes. Briefs, reviews and approvals all run online, and we travel for shoots when the work needs a camera on location.

Pricing and quotes

How does pricing work?

Every project is quoted on its own after we read the brief. We don’t publish a price list, because scope, crew and deliverables change from one project to the next.

Do we have to share a budget?

No, the budget band in the brief composer is optional. If you do share one, it helps us shape a scope that fits rather than quoting something you would have to cut back.

What shapes the quote for a shoot?

Mostly the number of locations and set-ups, the size of the crew, talent, props and how many finished pieces come out of it. The quote lists each of these so you can see where the cost sits.

How is ongoing social media work quoted?

As a recurring scope: the channels, the volume of posts and videos per cycle, and whether we handle posting and replies. We review it together when your needs change.

Process and revisions

How long does a project take?

It depends on the scope, so the schedule is agreed in the quote, from first draft to final delivery. If you have a fixed launch date, put it in the brief and we plan backwards from it.

How many revision rounds do we get?

The number of rounds is agreed in the quote and depends on the kind of work. We keep reviews focused by agreeing the direction early, in scripts, boards and drafts, before the expensive stages.

Can one shoot give us both a film and social cut-downs?

Yes, if we plan for it. We frame and block with the vertical crop in mind, so the main film and the 9:16 cuts come from the same day’s footage.

Do we need a script before we come to you?

No. We can write the concept and script from your brief, or work from one you already have. Either way the script is signed off before production starts.

Do you animate from our existing brand assets?

Yes. Send your logo files, typefaces, colours and guidelines, and we build the motion around them rather than restyling your brand. Layered source files make the work cleaner.

Can you shoot product photos without a studio of our own?

Yes. We bring lighting, backdrops and styling to a space that works, or you send the products to us. Food is usually shot where it is cooked, so it reaches the camera fresh.

Do you manage posting, or only make the content?

Either. We can plan the calendar, write the captions and publish on schedule, or hand over finished posts and templates for your team to run.

Rights and files

What do we receive at the end?

The finished masters, exported in the formats and sizes each channel needs. Source and project files are delivered by agreement, and the quote states which ones are included.

Who owns the finished work?

You own the final deliverables once the project is paid. If you have specific needs, such as exclusivity or use by a partner, tell us so we can write them into the quote.

Can we have the source files?

Often, yes, by agreement. Editable design files, layered artwork and animation projects are listed in the quote when they are part of the handover, so you know up front what you can edit yourselves.

How are music and stock footage licensed?

Licensed music, footage and fonts are cleared for the use agreed in the quote, such as online, broadcast or events. If you plan to use the piece somewhere new later, check with us first so the licence still covers it.

The group and outside clients

Do outside clients get the same team as the group?

Yes. Group companies and outside clients work with the same people, the same kit and the same standards.

Does group work come before ours?

No. Outside work doesn’t wait behind group projects, and it doesn’t jump ahead of them either. Your timing is agreed in the quote and we hold to it.

Why is the portfolio mostly group brands?

Because that is where the studio began, making films, photos and content for the group’s own businesses. The same crew and craft go into outside work.
